Fans waited years for new music from At the Drive In, but now they can look for their second offering within a year. After issuing the Loudwire Music Awards-nominated album in • ter a • li • a earlier this year, the band will follow with a new three-song EP titled Diamante.
The platter will come as a 10-inch vinyl released exclusively on Record Store Day’s Black Friday (Nov. 24) courtesy of Rise Records. The three-song set includes the new tracks “Amid Ethics” and “Despondent at High Noon,” which will make up the A-side of the vinyl, with “Point of Demarkation” on the B-side.
While teasing the disc, the band offered the cryptic message, “How do you weaponize the insatiable thirst for life among vultures? How do you deprogram the coroner dissecting hiatus ? What light beckons you from the sewers of suggestion? Is your instinct extinct? Or does it hide in the flash burn of counterfeit automatons? Five boys with guilty slingshots swaying to the Midwitch Sound. Blinded by the Diamante.”
The music was recorded at Cloud Hills Studio in Hamburg, Germany this past summer, and was produced by the band’s Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and mixed by Johann Scheerer. To learn where you can pick up a copy and to see what else will be available for Record Store Day, head here.

And as stated earlier, the band’s in • ter a • li • a album has been nominated for the Hard Rock Album of the Year at the 2017 Loudwire Music Awards. The winners will be announced during an Oct. 24 ceremony at the Novo in downtown Los Angeles.
