NEWS: Ozzy Osbourne Set for New Television Show with Son Jack

It now seems as if Ozzy Osbourne won’t be joining Black Sabbath for a highly anticipated follow up to 13, but that doesn’t mean the reunions are over. In fact, Ozzy is again collaborating with son Jack Osbourne on a new television show.

The two, who co-starred in a well-known 2000s-era reality series focused on the Osbournes’ family life, are now at work on a project for the History 150203_Shot_01_089Channel. That said, don’t expect some stuffy recollection of stories from ancient times.

“[It’s] like a father and son spoof on history,” the elder Osbourne tells Billboard. “We went to Stonehenge and met a guy who thinks he’s the f–king reincarnation of King Arthur. And we went to Bletchley Park to see the machine [that Alan Turing] used to break the [German] code. We’re going to Mount Rushmore, to the abandoned silos where America used to have their Minutemen missiles and all that. It’s educational for me, actually — history with an Osbourne slant.”

There’s still no word on when the series will debut, though it’s likely to happen while Osbourne is out on the road with Black Sabbath. The group just extended a tour dubbed “The End” further into next year; the first show scheduled on Jan. 20 at Omaha, Neb.

13, which marked Ozzy Osbourne’s first full studio album with Black Sabbath since 1978, became their most successful ever in the U.S., as the band topped the Billboard charts for the first time ever. It was also Black Sabbath’s first charttopping U.K. project since 1970’s Paranoid. Ozzy’s television show The Osbournes aired from 2002-05 on MTV.
