SongoftheDay: STICKY HULKS by THEE OH SEES

STICKY HULKS by THEE OH SEES

thee-oh-sees-2013-tourNot since the amazing tickling of ‘Floyd’s Richard Wright have I heard such peaceful celebration of the organ.  Psychedelia at its highest level, bound together by a tight flow of melody, although fraying a bit by the caustic guitar punches thrust upon us as if to say ‘No, Syd isn’t gone just yet’.  No this isn’t Pink Floyd, rather the amazing work of San Francisco’s Thee Oh Sees. The complete disregard for respecting blues scales or tones, yet finding a way to grant the same feel as all them blues classics, is something remarkable about this group.  What there is a lot of respect for here is the tomes of late 60s and 70s psychedelic rock.  Again, come rolled and ready.  Be nimble, be nancy, be normocephalic, be none.  Be jasper, be jinny, be jambles, be John.  Be kindle, be krampus, be Kool-Aid, be kept.  Be swelling, be sour, be sore, be swept. – FATS
