SongoftheDay: SWAMP CITY BLUES by BRUTUS

SWAMP CITY BLUES by BRUTUS

BRUTUS1So much 70s filth slopped over this track.  All that bouncy fuzznastics dripping with full-on fa-la-la of the glorious British blues-rock era.  That trip through your father’s record collection is upended with the ever-present Norwegian accent.  To many of us, it is a true marvel that accent, but to some it seems a bit odd.  If you’re a fan of the better years of Grand Funk Railroad, or any of the better English blues acts, then Brutus is great contemporary to this sound.  If this modern version of this sound is something you dig, you should get your hands on stuff from bands like Graveyard, Witchcraft, and Witch. Be tall, be tender, be terrifying, be tall.  Be purple, be profound, be priceless, be Paul.  Be quirky, be quaint, be quenching, be quab.  Be daring, be dashing, be rental car bashing, be draffish. – FATS
