NEWS: Goo Goo Dolls to play concert in Coachella Valley

The iconic ’90s band Goo Goo Dolls will be performing in the Coachella Valley for the first time this fall during a Nov. 7 concert at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage.

Shooting to stardom with hits like “A Boy Named Goo,” “Slide” and “Iris,” the 635757910133354539-goo-goo-dollsmulti-platinum and Grammy-nominated band has sold more than 10 million albums all over the world.

With a combination of pop, punk and metal stylings, the band will be playing a mixture of old and the band’s new album, “Magnetic,” at the valley concert.

“Magnetic,” which was released in June 2013, includes upbeat songs such as “Rebel Beat,” which guitarist and lead vocalist John Rzeznik said was inspired by a New York block party.

“Basically it turned out to be a song about celebrating everything and (saying) no matter what, you’ve got to have fun. That’s really it,” Rzeznik said in a news release.

Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac will take the stage of the The Casino Resort Spa on Nov. 7, but fans can start buying tickets at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Tickets cost between $75 and $105 based on seat location and can be purchased one of three ways:

  • Visit HotWaterCasino.com to buy tickets online
  • Buy tickets in person at The Casino Resort Spa Essentials Gift Shop between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. every day.
  • Call Star Tickets at 1-800-585-3737.
