WHAT A WICKED SHOW: VOIVOD / FAITH NO MORE / SOUNDGARDEN 1990

As I mentioned to John Ellis on the podcast, I went to this show.  Here’s what a few other folks thought about the tour. – DAN

voivod-1347393754TOBY: Yep, saw the Soundgarden/FNM show at the concert hall in Toronto. Soundgarden were terrible. I think everyone there would agree. I remember Voivod’s first song, and snake’s mic didn’t work for first half of the song.  They quickly solved the problem and killed the rest of the show; amazing! Good times!

ssLANCE: I  saw the “Nothingface tour” with Soundgarden and FNM in Pittsburgh, and it is still one of the best shows I can recall. VoiVod ripped up the place and were in fine musical form that night. Piggy was, of course, in great spirits as usual; happy to be there and playing well.  I also met him after a soundcheck while opening for Fight in the 90’s at Charlotte, NC.  When I asked Piggy what it was like playing with Rush, the biggest smile came over his face saying, “it was a dream come true playing with those guys.”  It was truly a great moment shared for two huge admirers of that band too. I totally miss the Piggy chord and his sheer and modest brilliance.

Soundgarden_vogueTERRY: I was there in ’90! Soundgarden weren’t too good. They got heckled a lot, but Voivod were awesome.
