PODCAST ep. IV: SIR IAN BLURTON

originalOver the past 15 or so years, both Dan and I, being guitar-mined folk who love tone and amp sound and sweet fucking riffage, have had the pleasure of following the career of our next guest.  Although you may not be able to physically recognize the Ian Blurton that fronted Change of Heart, as he has gone from the short-haired ball-hockey playing guy from the “It Should Be” video, to more like a character from Sons of Anarchy, make no mistake – the dude still plays the fuck out of that guitar.  On this week’s show, Fats and Dan talk loosely about “rock royalty”, highlighted by a ruckus account of Dan’s meeting the mighty fuzz lord himself Ronnie James Dio (RIP), as well as a more in-depth look at the legend of Richard Iommi.

microphone1Dan then has a hilarious conversation with Ian Blurton, discussing everything from his days with Change of Heart, to his time with Bionic and C’mon, to his prolific work in the studio with such acts as Tricky Woo and The Weakerthans.  We here at rockandrolljunkie.com especially love his new project Public Animal, and Dan and Ian have a good chat about where that band is headed.  We couldn’t be more proud to have this Canadian music icon on the show this week, and hope you enjoy it as much as we have.  Fuck’n A Right!
